December Parent Letter

MiddleSchool Parents,

Canyou believe it's already Christmas?  This has been a GREAT year for middleschool ministries but we have an even larger year planned for 2010!  Letme tell you what's going on!

StartingJanuary 4, 2010 our middle school students are going to start a program to readthrough the entire Bible in a year!  As a matter of fact, all of our agegroup areas are going to do this, which will provide an awesome opportunity foryour family to read through the Bible.  In middle school we're callingthis THE BIG DIG.  I'm reallyexcited about this opportunity for our students to learn scripture together andwalk through the entire Bible together over the course of the year.  Tomake this possible I'm going to ask for your help in a few ways:

1.)Would you help make sure your student can obtain one of our teen devotionalBibles?  We have worked really hard to research and study Bibles and tomake this reading program work we want every student in middle school to usethe same Bible.  These Bibles are normally $23 but we are literallypurchasing them by the case and are able to make them available for only $13.We have included materials in this month’s newsletter mailing to allowyou to purchase one as a gift for your child for Christmas.

2.)Would you attend a parent meeting next Sunday, December 6 in the middle schoolroom following the second service.  I would love to have an opportunity toexplain every detail of this program to you because we want the entire familyto be involved. We'll be having meetings in each of the age group departmentsthat day.  It would be great if you could split up and cover all of themeetings.  If you are a single parent or unable to attend all of them comesee me after the meeting you attend and I'll bring you up to speed.

Duringthe parent meeting I also want to share with you an exciting opportunity ourstudents have in March to go to the Dare 2 Share Conference in Seattle. This conference will help equip and motivate your student to learn moreabout God and how to share their faith with others. At the meeting I'll sharewith you all the details, but you will want to make sure your student is ableto attend the conference.

OurChristmas series this year is called ANo Frills Christmas.  This series is focusing on removing the clutterof Christmas and looking at the importance of Christ as the Savior of the worldthrough various characters of the Bible.  This series takes place Sundaymornings at 9:15 am and Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm.  We'd love to haveyour student there!

Thanksso much for all you do as a parent!

Pastor Joshua
